Mr. Young Liu is Chairman of Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn), world’s largest electronics manufacturer and leading technological solutions provider.

Mr. Liu oversees Foxconn, one of the world’s largest employers with approx. 900,000 employees, during peak manufacturing season, across 24 countries/regions and revenue of TWD6.162 trillion (approx. USD198 billion or EUR183 billion) in 2023. Foxconn is among the top 30 companies in Fortune Global 500 and is the largest in Taiwan by revenue. Its four primary product segments are smart consumer electronics; cloud and networking products; computing products; and components and other products.

Mr. Liu, appointed to his current role in 2019, initiated the company's direction and strategies that are enabling it to chart its next phase of global growth. Known as the 3+3 strategy, Foxconn’s primary growth drivers cover three major industries and three core technologies. These three industries are Electric Vehicles, Digital Health and Robotics. The three core technologies are Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductors, and Next-Generation Communications Technologies. Under Mr Liu’s watch, Foxconn is transforming into a platform solutions provider for: Smart Manufacturing, Smart Electric Vehicles and Smart Cities.

A recognized entrepreneur and innovator with over four decades of industry experience, Mr. Liu founded three companies: a motherboard company, Young Micro Systems in 1988; a northbridge and southbridge IC design company focused on the PC chipset, ITE Tech in 1995; and an ADSL IC design company, ITeX in 1997. Young Micro Systems was merged with Foxconn in 1994, and ITeX successfully listed on NASDAQ in 2001.

Mr. Liu joined Foxconn in 2007 as Special Assistant to the Founder. In 2010, he was appointed as General Manager of the Innovation Digital System Business Group of Foxconn and later became the Chairman of Socle Technology Corp in 2014. In 2016, he set up and became the General Manager of Foxconn’s Semiconductor Business Group. In 2019, Mr. Liu was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hon Hai Technology Group, and Chairman of Foxsemicon Integrated Technology Inc. In 2020, he became Chairman of Foxtron Vehicle Technologies Co Ltd. In 2022, he assumed a Board Director of Ceer Motor. In 2024, Mr. Liu was elected as Chairman of SHARP Corp.

Currently, Mr. Liu is the Convenor of the Supervisory Committee of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association and sits on the board of the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association. To foster technological innovation and the nurturing of industry talent, Mr. Liu serves as a Board Director for The Third Wednesday Club. He is committed to the digital transformation of Foxconn, and as a result, he was awarded the "Digital Transformation Leadership" by Harvard Business Review in 2021. Foxconn is the only private enterprise in Taiwan that has been awarded the "Top 100 Global Innovators" by Clarivate Analytics for seven consecutive years (2018-2024). Mr Liu has been in top rankings for “Best CEO” in Institutional Investor’s All-Asia Executive Team for two years in a row (2023-2024). In 2024, Mr Liu was awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honor bestowed by the Government of India.

Mr. Liu holds an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, Taiwan’s National Chiao Tung University. He earned an MS degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California and a BS degree in Electrophysics from National Chiao Tung University.
